School districts must provide CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) instruction to students in grades 9-12 within health or physical education curriculum

Instruction must include hands-on psychomotor skills training and be based on programs from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or other nationally recognized evidence-based guidelines

Regular instructional personnel may teach CPR/AED skills, but certification courses must be taught by authorized instructors from approved programs

Students are not required to become certified in CPR or AED use to satisfy the requirement
