Amends Florida Statute 812.081 to explicitly include financial information within the definition of trade secrets protected under state law.

Expands the definition of "trade secret" to encompass scientific, technical, or commercial information, including designs, processes, procedures, supplier lists, customer lists, and business codes.

Establishes that stealing, embezzling, or unlawfully copying a trade secret constitutes a felony of the third degree, punishable under sections 775.082 or 775.083.

Specifies that returning or intending to return stolen, embezzled, or copied materials does not constitute a valid defense in prosecution.

Takes effect October 1, 2015.
