Requires each district school board to provide disability history and awareness instruction in all K-12 public schools beginning with the 2016-2017 school year, designated as "Disability History and Awareness Weeks" during the first 2 weeks of October.

Mandates instruction cover the history of disability, disability rights movement, services to individuals with disabilities, and contributions of individuals with disabilities including national leaders.

Requires instruction be integrated into existing curriculum through supplementing lesson plans, holding assemblies, or other school activities, with presentations from individuals with disabilities who meet background screening requirements under Florida statute 1012.465.

Requires each public school to establish a disability history and awareness advisory council consisting of six teachers employed at the school and one individual from the local community who has a disability, meeting at least four times per year.

Designates council responsibilities to include providing curriculum input, assisting in locating presenters with disabilities, and submitting annual reports to the school district superintendent by August 1, 2016 and each year thereafter with recommendations regarding disability awareness.
