CS/HB 301 - Alcoholic Beverages Summary

• Prohibits electronic benefits transfer (EBT) cards from being used to purchase alcoholic beverages or items at distillery vendor establishments

• Authorizes malt beverage manufacturers to obtain up to 8 vendor's licenses to sell directly to consumers at manufacturing premises through face-to-face transactions or online orders picked up on-site

• Allows malt beverages to be packaged and sold in growlers (32, 64, or 128-ounce containers) filled at point of sale by licensed manufacturers, quota vendors, and certain other vendors

• Authorizes manufacturers, distributors, importers, or contracted agents to conduct malt beverage tastings at on-premises bars and certain off-premises retailers with specific requirements on serving sizes and procedures

• Modifies craft distillery sales limits to apply per branded product and prohibits shipping distilled spirits to consumers; allows Department of Transportation directional signage for craft breweries and distilleries upon request with costs paid by the requesting facility

• Effective July 1, 2015
