CS/HB 401 Summary

• Changes the frequency for the Division of Hotels and Restaurants to reassess inspection frequency of public food service establishments from annually to at least annually (removes the "by no later than July 1, 2014" deadline).

• Authorizes the division to deliver lodging inspection reports and food service inspection reports to operators electronically instead of requiring only personal delivery or registered mail.

• Requires operators of public food service establishments to maintain copies of the latest food service inspection reports on premises and make them available to the division during inspections and to the public upon request.

• Deletes the restriction limiting how long a licensed public food service establishment may operate at temporary food service events (previously limited to 3 days or less).

• Revises delinquent fee schedules for late license renewals: maintains caps of $50 for renewals filed within 30 days after expiration and $100 for renewals filed 31-60 days after expiration.
