Local governments may adopt residential and nonresidential landscape irrigation conservation measures that are more restrictive than state or water management district requirements, but not less restrictive

Water management districts and the Department of Environmental Protection may announce water shortages through public information releases posted on their websites, in addition to newspaper publication

During water shortage emergencies, affected districts must issue emergency orders identifying water bodies expected to be impacted by withdrawals in adjacent districts

Adjacent districts must issue corresponding emergency orders and notify all permittees within their jurisdiction of the emergency

Emergency orders issued by an affected district remain in effect in adjacent districts and can only be rescinded by the affected district; effective date July 1, 2015
