Amends s. 790.15, F.S. to prohibit any discharge of a firearm on residential property, regardless of whether occurring outdoors or in a reckless or negligent manner.

Makes firearm discharge on property used primarily as a dwelling or zoned exclusively for residential use a first-degree misdemeanor, punishable under s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

Removes the previous requirement that the discharge be reckless or negligent, making any knowingly intentional discharge on residential property illegal.

Exempts persons lawfully defending life or property, performing official duties requiring firearm discharge, and persons discharging firearms on public roads or properties expressly approved for hunting by the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission or Florida Forest Service.

Takes effect October 1, 2015.
