HB 807 Summary

• Authorizes the Board of Medicine and Board of Osteopathic Medicine to deny licenses or discipline hair restoration or transplant surgeons for improperly delegating surgical procedures to unqualified individuals.

• Permits hair restoration surgeons to delegate incisional or excisional aspects of surgical procedures only to physician assistants or advanced registered nurse practitioners.

• Requires hair restoration surgeons to document the licensure, education, training, and experience of any individual accepting delegation of surgical tasks.

• Defines "surgical procedure" to include follicular unit transplant, follicular unit extraction, scalp reduction surgery, scalp flap surgery, and scalp expansion surgery.

• Requires health care providers of hair restoration or transplant to inform patients of the identity and training status of individuals involved in their care; effective July 1, 2015.
