Creates section 551.229 of Florida Statutes to establish public records exemptions for the Department of Gaming Control for proprietary business information and trade secrets received from license applicants and licensees.

Exempts information from public records disclosure that would reveal the department's investigation techniques, procedures, and investigation information, including methods shared during joint investigations with other regulators or law enforcement.

Allows the department to disclose exempt information only with prior written consent of the applicant or licensee, pursuant to court order, to law enforcement agencies, for reporting suspected criminal activity, or pursuant to legislative subpoena.

Requires legislative bodies receiving information through subpoena to maintain confidential status except when investigating charges against a public official subject to impeachment or removal.

Exemptions are subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and shall be repealed on October 2, 2020, unless reenacted by the Legislature; effective date is contingent on HB 1233 or similar legislation becoming law.
