CS/HB 1335 Summary

• Amends the Pinellas County Emergency Medical Services Authority governing structure to consist of 11 members appointed by various municipalities and special districts rather than the Board of County Commissioners.

• Appoints members as follows: one each from Clearwater, St. Petersburg, and a combined group of four cities; one from a combined group of five cities; one from a combined group of seven municipalities and fire district; one from a combined group of five beach cities; one from Pinellas Park and Kenneth City; three from the Board of County Commissioners; and one from three special fire control districts.

• Establishes that four members constitute a quorum and the Chairperson of the Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council serves as an ex officio non-voting member.

• Sets member terms at 2 years with eligibility for reappointment, provided no member may serve more than three consecutive terms.

• Requires vacancy selections to be made within 60 days, with the Board of County Commissioners authorized to appoint a replacement if no selection is made.
