Repeals s. 776.013, F.S., which previously provided a presumption of fear of death or great bodily harm in home protection situations and a duty to stand ground and meet force with force.

Amends s. 776.012 to provide that a person justified in using deadly force to prevent imminent death, great bodily harm, or commission of a forcible felony has no duty to retreat and may stand their ground if not engaged in criminal activity and lawfully present.

Modifies s. 776.032 to remove reference to repealed s. 776.013 in immunity provisions for justifiable use or threatened use of force, with exception for law enforcement officers acting in official capacity who properly identify themselves.

Amends s. 790.15 to replace reference to repealed s. 776.013 with definition of "dwelling" in firearm discharge statute, maintaining criminal penalties for reckless or negligent firearm discharge except in lawful self-defense.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
