University conferred its 500,000th degree in 2014, has supported over 3,200 first-generation low-income students through the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Program since 2006, and received $702 million in contracts and grants in fiscal year 2013-2014

Gator athletic teams won NCAA national championships in women's softball (2014) and gymnastics (2014), and university is developing Innovation Square with Signet Enterprises to create an entrepreneurial living community
