House Resolution recognizing the sister state relationship and bilateral economic and cultural ties between Florida and the Republic of China (Taiwan), affirming shared values of freedom, democracy, and human rights protection.

April 10, 2015 marks the 36th anniversary of the Taiwan Relations Act, which authorizes continuation of commercial and cultural relations between the United States and Taiwan.

Taiwan was the 10th largest two-way trade partner of the United States and 7th largest export market for U.S. food and agricultural products in 2014, and the 6th largest source of international students in 2013.

Taiwan participates in over 60 international organizations including the World Trade Organization and World Health Assembly, and seeks membership in the Trans-Pacific Partnership and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership.

House members recognize shared interests with Taiwan and express support for future international trade development opportunities to strengthen the relationship between Florida and Taiwan, with copies to be presented to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Miami and the Governor's office.
