Authorizes Haines City to pay $825,094 to Thomas and Karen Brandi as compensation for injuries sustained in a March 26, 2005 vehicle accident caused by a Haines City police officer who ran a red light at over 45 miles per hour

Thomas Brandi suffered life-threatening injuries including an aortic arch tear, fractured rib, fractured sternum, fibula and pelvis fractures, and severe traumatic brain injury resulting in cognitive disorder and personality changes

A jury found Haines City 60% liable and Thomas Brandi 40% liable, resulting in a net award of $1,084,396 after reduction for comparative negligence, plus $94,049 in costs

Haines City previously paid $200,000 under sovereign immunity limits, and Brandi received $100,000 from uninsured motorist coverage

Limits attorney fees, lobbying fees, and related costs to no more than 25% of the total amount awarded under this act
