Pasco County is authorized to appropriate $1,500,000 to settle claims arising from the May 1, 2008 death of Tampa Police Officer Victor Guerrero, who was killed in a motorcycle accident caused by negligent left turn by Pasco County employee Daniel Whipple.

The $1,500,000 settlement shall be distributed as follows: $90,000 to the Estate of Victor Guerrero, $405,000 to widow Lara Guerrero, $345,000 to son Kevin Guerrero, and $330,000 each to sons Michael and David Guerrero.

This appropriation, combined with the $186,776.38 previously paid by Pasco County, constitutes the sole compensation for all present and future claims related to Officer Guerrero's death.

Attorney fees, lobbying fees, costs, and other similar expenses relating to this claim are limited to 25 percent of the $1,500,000 appropriation.
