North Brevard County Hospital District is directed to pay $395,000 to Roy Wright and Ashley Wright, individually and as guardians of Tucker Wright, for injuries resulting from medical negligence at Parrish Medical Center

Tucker Wright suffered a brachial plexus injury to his right arm during delivery on July 16, 2009, when a nurse negligently rotated the fetus's head on the perineum while attempting to resolve shoulder dystocia

The district previously paid $200,000 under the statutory liability cap in s. 768.28, Florida Statutes; the total settlement amount is $595,000

Medical expenses incurred for Tucker Wright totaled $320,016.91, and he has undergone two surgeries with potentially permanent functional deficits that may require additional surgeries

Attorney fees, lobbying fees, costs, and similar expenses are capped at 25% of the amount awarded under this act
