City of Hollywood is authorized to appropriate $100,000 to Ronald Miller as compensation for injuries sustained from a 2002 vehicle crash caused by negligence of a city employee.

The $100,000 payment, combined with the $100,000 already paid under Florida statutory liability limits, constitutes sole compensation for all present and future claims arising from the incident.

Attorney fees, lobbying fees, costs, and similar expenses related to the claim cannot exceed 25 percent of the $100,000 awarded under this act and must be paid on a pro rata basis.

The bill finds the factual circumstances true, including that Robert Mettler, a city utilities truck driver, caused a head-on collision with Ronald Miller's vehicle on July 30, 2002, resulting in knee injuries requiring corrective surgeries.
