Pasco County School Board is directed to pay Marcus Button $1,246,215.29 to compensate for injuries sustained from a September 22, 2006 school bus accident caused by employee negligence.

School board is directed to pay Mark and Robin Button (as parents and guardians) $261,148.95 for injuries and damages sustained by Marcus Button in the same accident.

Marcus Button, then 16, sustained facial and skull fractures, brain damage, and vision loss when a school bus pulled into the path of the vehicle he was in; he requires 24-hour care for life.

The school board previously paid $163,000 under statutory limits; this act authorizes additional payments totaling $1,507,364.24 for the unpaid judgment balances.

Attorney fees, lobbying fees, costs, and similar expenses may not exceed 25 percent of the total amount awarded under this act.
