Updates eligibility requirements for Florida Retirement System members to purchase credit for military service by replacing obsolete statutory references with current references to the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act.

Revises subsection structure under s. 121.111 to reorganize and renumber provisions relating to wartime military service credit claims, effective dates for claims, and certification requirements.

Makes editorial changes throughout s. 121.111 including replacing "prior to" with "before," "proper" with "appropriate," and "any" with "a" for grammatical consistency.

Conforms cross-reference in s. 121.052(12)(d) to align with reorganized military service credit provisions in s. 121.111.

Declares that extending military service retirement protections to state and local government employees and their beneficiaries fulfills an important state interest; effective July 1, 2015.
