Requires all Florida K-12 public schools to provide disability history and awareness instruction during the first two weeks of October each year, starting with the 2016-2017 school year (previously optional)

Mandates instruction covering the history of disability rights, contributions of individuals with disabilities, and the disability rights movement

Requires presentations to be augmented by individuals with disabilities who have been approved by the school and passed background screening requirements

Establishes a disability history and awareness advisory council at each public school, consisting of six teachers and one community member with a disability

Advisory councils must meet at least four times annually and submit annual reports to the district superintendent with recommendations on disability awareness by August 1 each year
