Requires the Florida Department of Health to expand statewide newborn screening to include testing for adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD), a hereditary metabolic disorder

Screening for ALD must be implemented as soon as the condition is adopted for inclusion on the federal Recommended Uniform Screening Panel

Amends existing law that already mandates newborn testing for phenylketonuria and other metabolic, hereditary, and congenital disorders before infants reach 1 week of age

Effective date of July 1, 2015
