County canvassing boards may begin canvassing absentee ballots after successfully completing testing of electronic tabulating equipment, rather than the previous requirement of starting at 7 a.m. on the 15th day before the election

Canvassing must still be completed no later than noon on the day following the election, and results cannot be released until after polls close on election day

Releasing absentee ballot results before polls close remains a third-degree felony

Absentee ballot instructions are updated to inform voters that signature updates must be received no later than the start of canvassing, which can occur as early as the 25th day before election day (changed from 15th day)
