Courts may order a transdermal monitor device or treatment program, or both, in lieu of an ignition interlock device for DUI violations under certain circumstances.

Offenders must assume reasonable costs for transdermal monitoring and treatment programs ordered by the court.

Transdermal monitoring option applies to second convictions, third convictions, enhanced penalties for blood-alcohol levels of 0.15 or higher, and cases involving minors in the vehicle.

Courts may order transdermal monitoring in addition to treatment programs as part of substance abuse education and evaluation requirements.

Deletes obsolete provision prohibiting ignition interlock device installation before July 1, 2003; effective July 1, 2015.
