Department of Children and Families must amend the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families State Plan to allow use of funds for purchasing disposable diapers by parents receiving assistance through the plan.

Disposable diaper purchases are subject to availability of moneys and limitations established by the General Appropriations Act.

Legislation aims to help low-income parents access child care by removing barriers related to diaper costs, enabling better workforce and school participation.

Effective date is July 1, 2015.
