SB 1476 Summary

• Requires the Department of Children and Families to develop and administer a website registry that collects and publishes real-time data on available mental health treatment beds from public and private mental health facilities.

• Defines "receiving facility" as an entity licensed and designated by the department to operate as a receiving facility under s. 394.875 and operating as a licensed crisis stabilization unit.

• Mandates all public and private mental health receiving facilities participate in the registry and designate employees responsible for submitting and updating facility information.

• Registry website must include facility contact information, real-time bed availability, patient type eligibility, security level, and other information needed for appropriate patient placement determinations.

• Makes the registry accessible and searchable by facility administrators, service providers, health care providers, and designated county law enforcement agencies; effective July 1, 2015.
