CS for SB 7076 - Military and Veteran Support

• Removes the 30 percent matching funds requirement for applicants to the Defense Infrastructure Grant Program while maintaining the requirement for Defense Reinvestment Grant Program applicants.

• Expands the definition of "activities" eligible for Defense Reinvestment Grant Program funding to include economic development grants provided to businesses in defense-dependent communities.

• Extends veterans' benefits eligibility to include those who received a general discharge under honorable conditions, in addition to those with honorable discharges, for professional licensing fee waivers and local government assistance.

• Requires the Department of Veterans' Affairs to create a section in the Florida Veterans' Benefits Guide on agricultural farming opportunities and programs available to veterans, developed in consultation with the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

• Mandates the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and Department of Military Affairs to establish a pilot program by June 30, 2016, providing commercial driver license testing for qualified Florida National Guard members at designated military facilities using existing departmental funds.
