HB 111 - Jury Service Summary

• Amends Florida Statute 40.013 to allow permanent exclusion from jury service for persons permanently incapable of caring for themselves due to mental illness, intellectual disability, senility, or other physical or mental incapacity
• Requires exclusion requests to be accompanied by a written statement from a physician licensed under chapter 458 or chapter 459 of Florida Statutes
• Renumbers existing subsection (9) of section 40.013 to subsection (10) to accommodate the new provision
• Effective date: July 1, 2016
