Requires each district school board to provide disability history and awareness instruction in all K-12 public schools during the first 2 weeks of October each year, beginning with the 2017-2018 school year, designated as "Disability History and Awareness Weeks."

Mandates instruction cover the history of disability, the disability rights movement, development and evolution of services, civil rights of individuals with disabilities, and contributions of specific individuals and acknowledged national leaders with disabilities.

Allows instruction to be integrated into existing curriculum through supplementing lesson plans, holding school assemblies, or other school activities, and may be augmented by presentations from individuals with disabilities who meet background screening requirements.

Requires each public school to submit an annual report to its school district superintendent by August 1, 2016, and each year thereafter, including recommendations and policy alternatives regarding disability awareness at the school.

Establishes three goals: better treatment and reduced bullying of students with disabilities; increased self-esteem and opportunities for individuals with disabilities in education and employment; and reaffirmation of commitment to full inclusion and equal opportunity for all individuals with disabilities.
