Revises intern registration requirements for clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, and mental health counselors to allow registration before commencing postgraduate experience or graduate-level practicum/internship/field experience.

Establishes that intern registrations are valid for 5 years; registrations issued on or before April 1, 2017 expire March 31, 2022 and cannot be renewed, while registrations issued after that date expire 60 months after issuance.

Requires a licensed mental health professional to be on the premises when registered interns provide clinical services in private practice settings for clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, and mental health counseling.

Requires candidates seeking a subsequent intern registration after the first registration expires to have passed the theory and practice examination for their profession.

Prohibits individuals who previously held a provisional license from applying for intern registration in the same profession.

Takes effect July 1, 2016.
