Florida Legislature applies to Congress under Article V of the U.S. Constitution to call a convention for the sole purpose of proposing an amendment to limit terms for U.S. House Representatives and U.S. Senators.

The application references Florida voters' 1992 approval (76+ percent) of term limits for federal offices and the 1995 U.S. Supreme Court decision in U.S. Term Limits, Inc. v. Thornton that struck down state-imposed congressional term limits.

The application is automatically revoked and nullified if used to support any convention with an agenda other than congressional term limits.

The application constitutes a continuing effort and may be aggregated with applications from other states to reach the two-thirds majority of state legislatures required by Article V, but cannot be combined with applications on other subjects.

Copies of the application must be sent to the President, Vice President, Speaker of the House, Florida's congressional delegation, and legislative leaders in all states.
