CS/HB 511 Summary

• Creates a special license plate for Bronze Star recipients stamped with "Bronze Star" and the likeness of the Bronze Star medal followed by the serial number.

• Requires all revenue from Woman Veteran license plate sales to be deposited into the Grants and Donations Trust Fund and expended solely for programs benefiting women veterans.

• Requires the Ex-POW license plate to display the likeness of the Prisoner of War Medal in addition to the "Ex-POW" designation.

• Amends veteran license plate provisions to clarify that applicants must provide proof of qualification and establishes standardized language for various military-related license plates (Veteran, World War II Veteran, Navy Submariner, National Guard, Pearl Harbor Survivor, Purple Heart, U.S. Reserve, and combat badge recipients).

• Takes effect October 1, 2016.
