Historical resources, records, archives, artifacts, research, and medical records recovered from the Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys remain in University of South Florida custody until the Department of State requests them; human remains remain with the university for identification purposes until returned to next of kin or reburied.

Department of State shall contract with University of South Florida to identify and locate eligible next of kin and must notify them by July 1, 2016 about payment and reimbursement provisions.

Department of State shall reimburse next of kin or pay providers up to $7,500 per child for funeral services, reinterment, and grave marker expenses; charitable donations toward these expenses are not eligible for reimbursement.

Establishes the Dozier Task Force with 8 members to submit recommendations by October 1, 2016 regarding creation of a memorial and location for reinterment of unidentified or unclaimed remains; the task force section repeals December 31, 2016.

Appropriates $500,000 in nonrecurring funds from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of State for the 2016-2017 fiscal year to implement the act, with unexpended funds reappropriated for the 2017-2018 fiscal year.
