HB 633 Summary

• Adds a new exclusion to the definition of "public food service establishment" for eating places maintained and operated by individuals or entities at food contests, cook-offs, or temporary events lasting 1-3 days hosted by churches or religious, nonprofit fraternal, or nonprofit civic organizations.

• Requires event hosts to provide documentation of their status as a qualifying organization upon request by the division.

• Clarifies that food service establishments excluded under the revised definition do not require a food service license.

• Renumbers existing exclusions in statute (items 4-11 become 3-10) to accommodate the new exclusion for temporary events.

• Takes effect July 1, 2016.
