HB 665 - Community Association Managers

• Creates the "Community Association Management Act" and renames the Regulatory Council of Community Association Managers to the Board of Community Association Managers with seven members appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate.

• Reduces prelicensure education requirements from 40 hours to 24 hours of in-person instruction and reduces biennial continuing education from at least 20 hours to no more than 10 hours annually.

• Extends complaint investigation timeline from 45 days to 90 days after receipt of original complaint or request for additional information.

• Establishes licensing requirements for both individual community association managers and management firms serving associations with more than 10 units or annual budgets exceeding $100,000.

• Allows timeshare management firms to employ unlicensed persons under direct supervision of at least one licensed manager at each geographic location, with the licensed manager assuming responsibility for all management work performed.
