CS/CS/HB 801 Summary

• Establishes $25 annual use fees for nine new specialty license plates: Support Special Needs Kids, America the Beautiful, Ducks Unlimited, Bonefish and Tarpon Trust, Educate Engage Empower, Dogs Making a Difference, National Wild Turkey Federation, Rotary, Florida Bay Forever, and Alzheimer's Community Care.

• Modifies Share the Road license plate fee distribution, increasing Bike Florida, Inc.'s permitted marketing allocation from 15% to 25% of annual use fees.

• Revises In God We Trust license plate fee distribution to fund educational scholarships for children of military members and public safety officers killed in the line of duty, plus grants for schools promoting religious and historical significance of American history.

• Directs Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to develop the new specialty license plates with specified colors, designs, and messaging per section 320.08053.

• Becomes effective October 1, 2016.
