CS/HB 1017 - Department of Economic Opportunity Cybercrime Prevention Act

• Authorizes the Department of Economic Opportunity to obtain reproductions of digital driver license records and images to validate reemployment assistance claims and identify fraudulent claims.

• Establishes disqualification periods from reemployment benefits for false or fraudulent representations, ranging up to 1 year for standard fraud cases.

• Extends disqualification to 5 years after a first felony conviction or 10 years after a second or subsequent felony conviction for fraud related to identity theft or misuse of personal identifying information.

• Expands the definition of "racketeering activity" under Florida law to include knowingly making false statements or failing to disclose material facts to obtain or increase reemployment assistance benefits or other specified payments.

• Takes effect upon becoming law.
