HB 1063 Summary

• Creates Section 464.0096 of Florida Statutes to establish public records and meetings exemptions related to the Nurse Licensure Compact.

• Exempts nurses' personal identifying information (other than name, licensure status, or licensure number) held by the Department of Health or Board of Nursing from public disclosure unless the originating state authorizes disclosure by law.

• Exempts meetings or portions of meetings of the Interstate Commission of Nurse Licensure Compact Administrators that discuss federally or state-protected matters from public meeting requirements, and exempts related recordings, minutes, and records from public disclosure.

• Subjects the exemptions to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and requires legislative review; exemptions automatically repeal on October 2, 2021, unless reenacted.

• Effective date is contingent upon the same date HB 1061 or similar legislation takes effect during the same legislative session.
