HB 1089 Summary

• Amends section 943.053, Florida Statutes to reduce the fee for criminal history information provided to the Agency for Persons with Disabilities from $24 to $8 per name submitted.

• Maintains the existing $8 per name fee structure for the guardian ad litem program and vendors of the Department of Children and Families, Department of Juvenile Justice, and Department of Elderly Affairs.

• Preserves fee structures for other entities: $15 per name for the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and $18 per volunteer name for National Child Protection Act requests.

• Public Defender offices receive criminal history information and wanted person information at no cost.

• Effective date is July 1, 2016.
