Board of Governors and State Board of Education must adopt regulations and rules enabling servicemembers and veterans to earn college credit for military training and education at public postsecondary institutions, including procedures for credential evaluation and course alignment.

Department of Education shall annually identify minimum scores, maximum credit, and applicable courses for CLEP, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, Excelsior College, DANTES, and Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) examinations.

Purple Heart recipients and recipients of combat decorations superior in precedence are eligible for tuition waivers at state universities, Florida College System institutions, and career centers if currently or were a state resident at time of military action; documentation must be submitted via DD-214 form or alternative Department of Defense or Veterans Affairs documentation.

Tuition waivers for combat decoration recipients are applicable for 110 percent of required credit hours for the degree or certificate program in which the student is enrolled.

Completion of United States Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center programs and passing scores on the Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) are acceptable means of demonstrating subject area knowledge for educator certification requirements.
