Requires the Department of Law Enforcement to establish a continued employment training component on autism spectrum disorder with a minimum of 4 hours of in-person instruction.

Training must include instruction on recognizing symptoms and idiosyncrasies of individuals with autism spectrum disorder and appropriate responses to persons exhibiting such symptoms.

Completion of the autism training may count toward the 40 hours of instruction required for continued employment or appointment as a law enforcement officer under Florida Statute 943.135.

Effective date is October 1, 2016.
