Creates the "Maxwell Erik 'Max' Grablin Act" establishing clearance and safety requirements for elevators installed in private residences.

Requires maximum clearance of 3/4 inch for swinging doors and 2 1/4 inches for sliding doors between hoistway doors and landing sills.

Mandates horizontal sliding and folding car doors withstand 75 pounds of horizontal force applied to a 4-inch area without permanent deformation exceeding 3/4 inch.

Requires spacing between hoistway and car doors to reject a 4-inch-diameter sphere at all points under various door configuration scenarios.

Mandates elevator car platforms include an underside safety device that interrupts power and stops downward motion within 2 inches if obstructed, requiring manual reset to resume operation.

Applies to all new elevators in private residences and directs the Florida Building Commission to adopt these requirements into the Florida Building Code by October 1, 2016.

Takes effect July 1, 2016.
