Requires persons engaged in leasing, renting, or licensing vacation rentals to display a valid certificate of registration number in each rental listing or advertisement.

Establishes a penalty of $50 per day for failing to display the required certificate number, collectible by counties administering taxes under chapters 125 or 212.

Increases penalty to $100 per day for subsequent violations of the certificate display requirement.

Raises the initial registration fee to $100 for persons who fail or refuse to register as dealers, though the department may waive the increase if failure was due to reasonable cause rather than willful negligence, neglect, or fraud.

Takes effect July 1, 2016.
