Proposes amendments to the Florida Constitution (Article I, Section 8 and Article VIII, Section 5) to exempt qualified law enforcement officers and qualified retired law enforcement officers from mandatory waiting periods for handgun purchases

Currently, the 3-day waiting period exemption for retail handgun purchases applies only to concealed weapon permit holders; this amendment would extend that exemption to active and retired law enforcement

Counties may impose 3 to 5-day waiting periods for firearm sales on public property; this amendment would also exempt qualified law enforcement officers from those county-level waiting periods

Requires voter approval at the next general election or an earlier special election specifically authorized by law

Qualifications for law enforcement officers would be defined by general Florida law
