HB 7105 Summary

• Allows military-trained emergency medical technicians and paramedics to apply for certification in Florida if trained outside the state or in the military by providing proof of current nationally recognized certification equivalent to EMT-Basic or EMT-Paramedic standards.

• Directs the Department of Health to issue health care practitioner licenses to eligible military health care practitioners and spouses of active duty servicemembers, while creating a temporary certificate program for active duty military health care practitioners valid for 6 months and renewable.

• Requires the Department of Business and Professional Regulation to provide methods for honorably discharged veterans to apply for construction and electrical contracting licenses with credit for up to 3 years of military service toward experience requirements.

• Directs the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to establish a process for veterans to apply for private investigative, security, and repossession services licenses with military training credit.

• Establishes a pilot program requiring the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and Department of Military Affairs to provide onsite commercial motor vehicle driver license testing for Florida National Guard members at specified locations by June 30, 2017.
