Commends Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., for its contributions to Florida and recognizes January 24-26, 2016, as the 22nd annual "Delta Days at the Capitol."

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., was founded on January 13, 1913, by 22 African-American women at Howard University and joined the women's suffrage movement 6 weeks after its founding.

The sorority has more than 250,000 college-educated women members and over 900 chapters worldwide, with 53 chapters located in Florida and the Bahamas.

Members operate through a Five-Point Program Thrust focusing on economic development, educational development, physical and mental health, political awareness and involvement, and international awareness and involvement.

Florida chapters conduct "Delta Days at the Capitol" annually for 21 years to advocate for policies and legislation benefiting African Americans and women while promoting leadership and social change.
