Designates February 4, 2016, as "FAMU Day" in the State of Florida to recognize Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University's contributions as an outstanding institution of higher education

FAMU was founded in 1887, named a land grant institution in 1891, and designated a university in 1953, currently operating seven campuses serving 10,229 students

FAMU offers 56 bachelor's degrees, 29 master's degrees, and 12 doctoral programs through 14 colleges and schools, with nearly one-third of students pursuing STEM or health-related degrees

University has received more than $1.3 million in grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and ranks as the second most affordable public institution in Florida and third highest for facilitating economic opportunity for underserved students nationally

Directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to Dr. Elmira Mangum, president of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University
