Amends section 934.425, Florida Statutes, to clarify when private investigators may legally install tracking devices or tracking applications

Allows persons or business entities exempt under existing law (such as parents tracking minor children, vehicle owners, or fleet operators) to hire private investigators to install tracking devices consistent with their applicable exemption

Permits private investigators to install tracking devices or tracking applications only when authorized by a lawful court order

Removes previous language that allowed private investigators to install tracking devices whenever the person hiring them would have been exempt from the prohibition

Effective date of October 1, 2016
