Requires residential rental agreements entered into on or after January 1, 2017, to specify whether renters insurance is required, with a line for the tenant's initials following that provision

Mandates that if renters insurance is required, the rental agreement must specify the coverage required

Requires a statement advising tenants to obtain renters insurance to cover personal property damage or loss if insurance is not required by the landlord

Failure to include the advisory notice does not create a private cause of action or invalidate any part of the rental agreement
