Prohibits local governments from banning vacation rentals or regulating the duration and frequency of their rental.

Prevents local governments from setting minimum stay requirements exceeding 7 days for vacation rentals.

Exempts local laws and ordinances adopted on or before June 1, 2011 from these prohibitions.

Allows subsequent amendments to local provisions adopted before June 1, 2011 to remain exempt from the state preemption rules.

Effective date: July 1, 2016.
