• Prohibits minors of any age from using tanning devices unless a health care provider prescribes the use to treat a medical condition and the parent or legal guardian signs a witnessed statement authorizing the use.

• Requires the signed parental statement to confirm the parent has read and understood warnings, consents to use, agrees the minor will use protective eyewear, and authorizes a specified number of sessions as prescribed by the health care provider.

• Limits tanning sessions to not exceed the number, frequency, or exposure time prescribed by the health care provider or authorized by law or department rule, whichever is less restrictive.

• Requires a parent or legal guardian to accompany minors younger than 14 years of age during prescribed tanning sessions.

• Creates criminal penalties including third-degree felonies for operating a tanning facility without a license and second-degree misdemeanors for failing to comply with the new minor use restrictions.
